Rich Patierne

Licensed Insurance Agent

Rich Patierne brings nearly four decades of professional experience, leadership, and community involvement to his role as a Licensed Insurance Agent at NY Insurance Hub.

Before entering the insurance industry, Rich spent almost 40 years in the Facilities Department at Union College, where he built his career around teamwork, problem-solving, and serving others. Prior to retiring, he served as Manager of Building Services and Work Order Systems, overseeing operations and helping keep people, projects, and resources moving efficiently.

Today, Rich brings that same people-first approach to insurance. He enjoys building personal connections with clients and helping make insurance feel less overwhelming. For Rich, taking the time to explain coverage clearly and helping clients feel confident about protecting what matters most is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Rich has also been deeply involved in his community for many years. He has served on the Schenectady County Legislature since 2016 and currently serves as Majority Leader. He also spent nearly 30 years coaching youth baseball.

Outside of work, Rich enjoys cooking, following baseball, football, and basketball, and spending time with family and friends at the campground on Schroon Lake. Most of all, he treasures time with his family—especially his grandson, Jack, with another grandchild arriving soon. Family is at the heart of what matters most to Rich and a big part of what motivates him to help others protect what matters to them.
